WINNIFRED (BERNICE) SKELTON This is the obitbulkloaduary of our dear mother, Bernice Skelton. Mom passed away peacefully at the Grace Hospital on Thursday evening, December 4, 2003, at the age of 83. An infant daughter Wendy; her only son Wally and her loving partner Howard Cubbidge predeceased her. Mom will be lovingly remembered by her three daughters, Judy Dunn of Watson Lake, Yukon Territory, Carol (Mel) Enstrom of Stonewall and Sue Skelton of Abbottsford, BC, 14 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and many friends. Mom spent her early adult years in Carman raising our family before moving to Winnipeg where she worked for Big 4 Sales and eventually met Howard. After her retirement, she and Howard enjoyed several winter jaunts to Portugal with their many worldwide travelling friends. They also spent many happy times with members of the "Rownders" where Mom was known for her humourous "one liners". Her warmth, love of people and sharp wit stayed with her to the end. Mom spent the last three years at Charleswood Care Centre and we wish to thank the residents and staff, for the kindness, good times and happy memories they gave to her. We also thank the doctors and staff at Grace Hospital for the compassionate care and comfort they provided during our mothers final days. According to her wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no service. A graveside service and celebration of Moms life for family and friends will be held in Carman in the spring. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made to the Charleswood Care Centre, 5501 Roblin Blvd., Winnipeg, MB R3R 0G8.
